Often the challenges and struggles we encounter each day can begin to weigh heavy on our shoulders. Literally. As the day progresses we may begin to slouch, hunch over, and slump. Posture is important for good health and Mountain pose is a beneficial practice for standing up straight. With feet grounded to the Earth, body elongated and aligned, shoulders rolled back into their natural position opening the chest and heart, crown of the head rising toward the sky, the body is in position to begin the standing yoga poses. The body should feel taller, balanced, and strong. Mountain pose provides a solid foundation and the stability needed to help overcome the little daily defeats of life.
